The line up for the Arthurs day gigs. Tickets on sale tomorrow!

Remember we posted about the incredible lineup for the Guinness celebrations on September 24? We’ve just been told some of what they are.

Tickets go on sale via Ticketmaster tomorrow, 23 July. Tickets for the four studio venues and the 28 Dublin pubs will only cost €17.59 and €9 respectively. Proceeds from all ticket sales will be donated to the Arthur Guinness Fund.

Those lucky enough to get their hands on tickets to one of the four studio venues – Tripod, Vicar St, Whelan’s and The Academy – will enjoy up to seven amazing international and Irish artists.

On top of that people attending the pub venues such as Oliver St John Gogarty’s, O’Donoghues, Mulligans and The Palace Bar, will have the unique experience of seeing two well known artists and a performance from a special guest in the intimate surroundings of a traditional Dublin pub.

The special guest artist and two well known artists performing in the pub venues will remain a secret until the night itself.

The confirmed artist line up for the four studio venues has been announced today with more to be confirmed:

Vicar Street: Sugababes, Razorlight, Black Swan Effect, Reverand and the Maker, The Blizzards

The Academy:The Kooks, Richard Hawley, Imelda May

Tripod: Calvin Harris, Jamie Cullum, Soul 11 Soul with Caron Wheeler, Republic of Loose, Mongrel

Whelan’s: David Gray, The Enemy, The Wombats, The Undertones, Lisa Hannigan, Hot Rats (Supergrass)

What makes this really great is that it’s all for charity:

The Arthur Guinness Fund is an internal fund created by Guinness & Co. which will be used by Guinness & Co. to create opportunities for communities throughout Ireland and around the World including providing skills for life and supporting social entrepreneurs. The Fund is not a separate charity but its monies are held separately by Guinness & Co. and will be independently audited.

There’s a video to go with it. At least two Culch.ie bloggers are in it. Media whores I say 😉

I’ve yet to catch the Kooks play, might head to that. Anyone else going to any of these gigs???

  2. Séamus says:

Might come over for this, wondering who is playing at the smaller venues ? I’ve played trad in Gogarty’s and o’Donoghue’s, had pints in Mulligan’s and the Palace before. Unfamiliar with the performers at the large venues except for David Gray. Going to check on flights.

There are some great acts lined up for this festival; my problem would be that I’d love to see quite a few of them, but would have to get four separate tickets cos each of the venues have acts that I think would make me want to slit my wrists!!!
