Cois Fharraige Festival
The veil of uncertainty over whether or not the Cois Fharraige festival was going ahead this year finally lifted today and it’s all systems go according to promoters MCD.
It’s the third year of Ireland’s music and water sports festival taking place down on the west coast in Kilkee, Co.Clare over 3 days from September 11th to 13th. Thus far the music line-up sounds fantastic featuring Doves, The Zutons, Newton Faulkner, Noah & The Whale, The Hold Steady, Stereo MC’s, Lightning Seeds, and Jerry Fish with more acts to be announced in the coming days.
Kilkee is hugely popular with the surfing community the whole year round and while you’re there you can try your hand at some surfing lessons or try out some water-skiing or diving or even just head for a swim in the refreshing Atlantic ocean. And if you’re not feeling the ocean vibe, there’s some amazing scenery to take in as you enjoy the music over the weekend.
Tickets
Early bird weekend tickets are priced €89 inclusive of booking fee up until 1st September and €99 incl. booking fee after. Tickets go on sale this Tuesday 11th August 2009 at 9 am from the Ticketmaster website, Ticketmaster outlets nationwide or via the 24 hour hotlines – (ROI) 0818 719 300 / 0818 719 330. (NI) 0870 243 4455.
Accommodation
No camping accommodation is available on the festival grounds but there’s plenty of campsites, self-catering and serviced accommodation available in Kilkee. Check out kilkee.com for information.
What to find out more?
The Cois Fharraige website has yet to be updated with information for the 2009 festival but I’m sure it will happen pretty soon so keep an eye on coisfharraige.com or mcd.ie for news of line-up changes and other useful info.
