Screencheck at Soundcheck #asyouwish
Thursday, August 13th, 2009
When I heard about the launch of Screencheck I was delighted. Watching a movie with friends and having a couple of drinks and the opportunity to talk about it? Brilliant. The fact they’re bringing the Princess Bride to screen tonight is even better.
Free admission. Free popcorn provided. Grab a cocktail, throw yourself on a couch, and watch the movie in the Black Bar, upstairs in Spy.
Also from 7pm, SoundCheck kicks off as usual with a line-up of film makers and film buffs DJing for your sonic pleasure.
As usual we have our free cupcake buffet, €10 bottles of wine until 9pm and 2-for-1 cocktails until 11pm.
Damien is hosting the liveblog over on his site which you can submit to or use the #asyouwish tag on twitter to join in.
It’s going to be an interesting evening, both to see how many join in, how people who have never seen the find it, how much it’s changed for those who haven’t seen it in years and how the die-hard fans will react to negative criticism, if there is any.
I’m reading the book at the moment. It’s excellent.
