Colonel Popcorn’s False Fillum Factoids
Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009You may not use Google, Twitter, Facebook, the IMDB, Wikipedia, texting, emailing, phone calling, writing, and/or Jedi mind tricks or any other form of cheating.
This is a new series where I’ll give you five random facts about either a single fillum or five seperate ones, actors, whatever.
All you have to do is guess the odd one out – which one is false.
Find the false fillum factoid -
- In the 1980 fillum “Stir Crazy”, Richard Pryor refused to wear the woodpecker costume for the bank robbery scene. A double had to be used for the entire scene. He did wear it for the poster and other promotional material though.
- Alec Baldwin, Jeff Bridges, Emilio Estevez, Matthew Broderick, Kevin Costner, Tom Cruise, Michael J. Fox, Harrison Ford, Robert Downey Jr., Kevin Spacey, Patrick Swayze, Dennis Quaid, Kurt Russell, Rob Lowe, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Charlie Sheen, Bill Murray, Pierce Brosnan, Tom Selleck, Daniel Day-Lewis, Tom Hanks and Bruce Willis were considered for the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman (1989). When Michael Keaton was finally cast in the role more than 50,000 protest letters were sent to the studio by die hard fans.
- The 1990 fillum “My Blue Heaven” starring Steve Martin and Rick Moranis was based on the life of Henry Hill (Goodfellas) after he’s entered into the witness protection program. It was written by Nora Ephron, who was the wife of Nicholas Pileggi – who wrote the book that Goodfellas was based on, and the screenplay for the fillum with Martin Scorsese.
- When making “Dumb and Dumber”, Jim Carrey had a cap removed from his chipped front tooth to make his character look a little more deranged.
- During filming for “Shaun of the Dead”, Nick Frost who played Ed shaved his balls giving him reason to scratch them as much as the character called for.

I can’t be certain but I’ll say which ones I know are true if it helps anyone else…
I’d say it’s either the My Blue Heaven one or the Shaun of the Dead one. I’ll say Shaun of the Dead. Nick Frost is too proud of his big hairy balls to shave them.
I reckon its the shaun of the dead one too!
You’re wrong, you’re all wrong!
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ah ha ha *cough splutter* ahem ha ha
Batman.
Or else they’re all true.
C’mon tho, seriously, Arnold Schwarzenegger as Bruce Wayne??
The answer is a trick answer.
It’s the second clue. All of those actors, apart from Rob Lowe were considered/approached for the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman.
Mwah ha ha ha.
Narf!
Hmmm thats an evil laugh if i ever heard one!!
