Play a part in Verdi’s AIDA
Verdi’s famous opera Aida, is said to be one of the greatest operas ever written. It tells the story of an Ethiopian princess whose love for an Egyptian soldier is complicated by the fact that their two countries are at war with each other and Aida’s love rival is the Pharaoh’s daughter.
Aida will be performed with spectacular effect, with 12 metres high pyramids, palm trees and statues on the stage of the O2 Arena in Dublin on Friday 4 December and in the Odyssey Arena in Belfast on Saturday 5 December. This opera calls for a large range of extras, some of whom have been chosen in Dublin to take part in both of these productions. Including some people you might know!
But they need more!
Specifically: 40 Caucasian males with a reasonable athletic build as the costumes will require you to go topless. Also 10 Black African males and five Black African females.
If you are free to take part on both evenings, 4 and 5 December, including a dress rehearsal on Thursday 3 December, then come along to the Burlington Hotel tonight at 6.30pm for open auditions and a rehearsal for those chosen. The only requirements aside from the above, is that you are over 18, free on all three nights mentioned and willing to donate your time in exchange for some tickets for friends and a chance to say you performed in the O2 and the Odyssey with a world renowned opera company 🙂
On Saturday a bus will be organised from the Burlington Hotel to the Odyssey and back again with food organised for you in Belfast.
There is a little more info here, but note that this page was for last night’s open auditions.
See you there!
