Gardening with Donegan

Peter Donegan and Brian Cowen (Donegan is on the left, I think)
If you’ve never met Peter Donegan, you’ve missed out on something special. The man is a flash storm – he spins in, throws everything into chaos and just as suddenly, he’s gone again. He is one of the most remarkable people I’ve ever met – manic, funny, smart and a really good bloke too.
So, when he said he was starting a Gardening Group, I was very eager to join in. No, I don’t have a garden. No, I don’t know a Hydrangea from a Crocus. But I do know that a day out with Donegan will be highly entertaining.
The first ever outing for the Garden group has been organised for The National War Memorial Gardens (Dublin) and it will cost you absolutely nothing.
We will have a personal guided tour and the towers will be made open and available to us so if you had (or think you had) a relation in World War I we will be able to go in and get printed copies from the original books of the records. The fact that the entire gardens were built by hand is amazing just to look at and for the pure gardener there’s a collection of over 5,000 roses. There literally is something for everyone and this is not about ones ability to horticulture…

The War Memorial Gardens
Date and Time: Sunday 7th February 2009 at 12pm midday. Depending on yourself this should take no more than 3 hours [at a max].
To Book Your Place: Places are limited to 18 people maximum. If you would like to go, drop a comment on Donegan’s post here.
I’ll be going along with my camera and I’m sure there will be a beverage or two consumed after the tour. See you there. 🙂
Never been there, not sure where it is located in Dublin. Would be nice for Peter to highlight some of Ireland’s best gardens during the year. My faves, of the few I’ve seen, are in Kerry.
I think all places in this one are gone, aren’t they? Since last Friday?
Oh I missed this! And I see places are full 🙁 ! Looks interesting! Enjoy all!
