I Like The Like, maybe you could to?
Friday, May 7th, 2010Now for those who didn’t catch this all girl rock band, The Like, the first time around here’s a brief history:
Back in 05/06 this band of 3 childhood friends, Z Berg, Tennessee Thomas and Charlotte Froom, were causing a nice little bit of buzz in the music industry. With their hit singles June Gloom and What I Say and What I Mean from their debut album Are You Thinking What I’m Thinking, the future was bright for this band.
They toured for what seemed like forever, appear at festival’s like Glastonbury and touring with the likes of Muse, Bloc Party and Arctic Monkeys. Everywhere they went they seemed to gather more and more fans to their infectious sounds.
I even managed to catch them at their one and only gigs at Crawdaddy back in 2006. I bought the T-shirt, and it still fits to this day, I might add.
Then they fell off the radar for a while. Sophomore album blues maybe, but the initial work on their 2nd album in 2008 seemed to be going well.
Then it was all quiet. Until late last year when they came back. A new line up, new songs and a slight change in sound. bass player Charlotte Froom had left and Laena Geronimo (bass) and Annie Monroe (organ) had joined.
This Summer their new album (Mark Ronson produced) Release Me is out June 15th in the State’s.
The first single from the new album is He’s Not a Boy:
And the preview track Fair Game is available to download on their Website.
Here is a stylish video that was also made recently for Fair Game:

Charlotte Froom was quite nice.
Yeah she was, few people wore hot pants that well…
Still don’t know what happened to her exactly..
