See The Stars At New Vegas! (well, hear them anyway)

Vegas. To celebs it’s like a great sparkling jar of sugar-water with a funnel in. Sure Celine Dion hasn’t left in years.

And it looks like New Vegas is just as enticing, if Bethesda Softworks‘ announcement of the cast for the latest epic episode in the Fallout saga is any indication. Which it is. Because what other New Vegas would I be talking about?

Fallout: New Vegas is, of course, the next release in this series of bloody brilliant and much-loved RPGs, and it’s coming our way on October 22nd. Set in a post-apocalyptic world inhabited by mutants, weirdos, mutant weirdos and giant nasty things of the insect persuasion, you play a courier who’s been robbed and left for dead and is probably a bit cranky about it. You’ll be in good company, though. Matthew Perry, Kris Kristofferson, Danny Trejo (who will reportedly lend his growls to a playable companion – yey!), Mr. Las Vegas himself, Wayne Newton, and, of course, Fallout fixture Mr. Ron Perlman are all twanging their vocal chords for this outing. If you’re not already prepping for a basking in their illustrious presence, why not have a gawk at the latest trailer. It looks spiffing (although not as dank as I’m used to).

I’m looking forward to this like a Garda Sergeant to his mid-morning jaffa cakes. Just another reason for this half-arsed summer to hurry up into the past, yes siree.

About the Author

That cranky young wan from award-winning blog, Arse End Of Ireland, Lisa’s also noted for her dedication to cobbling together unrelated imprecations to make new and bemusing insults, mostly because she’s not eloquent enough to otherwise explain her deep-seated terror of genre fiction and Fianna Fail. In 2006, The Irish Times called her “… the most talented writer at work in Ireland today”, and her mam still can’t understand why this is better than being the new Marian Keyes. Which it totally is.
