Superb Superbowl Movie Spots

The Superbowl, America’s answer to the Rose of Tralee, was on last night  on last night and as usual it was a battle of the brave and the bold for supremacy of the Vince Lombardi trophy. Aside from the action on the field the Superbowl is an American advertisers dream, millions and millions all tuned in to a 4 hour long show with more ads than actual sport. Movie studios use this time wisely to peddle their upcoming releases and last night was no exception with 15 films going to post.

The films that we caught a glimpse of include Captain America: The First Avenger, Transformers: Dark of The Moon, Cowboys & Aliens, Super 8, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Thor, Battle: Los Angeles, Priest, Limitless, Rio, Rango, Fast Five, The Adjustment Bureau, Drive Angry 3D, and Just Go With It.

Below are the spots, with the synopsis for each movie. Enjoy!

The Adjustment Bureau

The affair between a politician and a ballerina is affected by mysterious forces keeping the lovers apart.

Battle: Los Angeles

A Marine platoon faces off against an alien invasion in Los Angeles.

Captain America: The First Avenger

After being deemed unfit for military service, Steve Rogers volunteers for a top secret research project that turns him into Captain America, a superhero dedicated to defending America’s ideals.


Cowboys &Aliens

A spaceship arrives in Arizona, 1873, to take over the Earth, starting with the Wild West region. A posse of cowboys are all that stand in their way.

Drive Angry 3D

A vengeful father escapes from hell and chases after the men who killed his wife and kidnapped his daughter.

Fast Five

Dominic and his crew find themselves on the wrong side of the law once again as they try to switch lanes between a ruthless drug lord and a relentless federal agent.

Just Go With It

A man enlists the help of a woman and her kids to land the woman of his dreams.


A copywriter discovers a top-secret drug which bestows him with super human abilities.

Pirates of the Caribbean On Stranger Tides

Produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by Rob Marshall, “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” captures the fun, adventure and humor that ignited the hit franchise—this time in Disney Digital 3D™. Johnny Depp returns to his iconic role of Captain Jack Sparrow in an action-packed adventure. Crossing paths with the enigmatic Angelica (Penelope Cruz), he’s not sure if it’s love—or if she’s a ruthless con artist who’s using him to find the fabled Fountain of Youth. Super 8

The Paramount Pictures release is set in Ohio in 1979 and introduces a troupe of six youngsters who are using a Super 8 camera to make their own zombie movie. One fateful night, their project takes them to a lonely stretch of rural railroad tracks and, as the camera rolls, calamity strikes — a truck collides with an oncoming locomotive and a hellacious derailment fills the night with screaming metal and raining fire. Then something emerges from the wreckage, something decidedly inhuman.


The powerful but arrogant warrior Thor is cast out of the fantastic realm of Asgard and sent to live amongst humans on Earth, where he soon becomes one of their finest defenders.

Transformers: Dark of The Moon Super Bowl Trailer

The Autobots Bumblebee, Ratchet, Ironhide and Sideswipe led by Optimus Prime, are back in action, taking on the evil Decepticons, who are determined to avenge their defeat in 2009’s Transformers Revenge of the Fallen. In this new movie, the Autobots and Decepticons become involved in a perilous space race between the U.S. and Russia, and once again human Sam Witwicky has to come to the aid of his robot friends. There’s new characters too, including a new villain in the form of Shockwave, a longtime Transformers character who rules Cybertron while the Autobots and Decepticons battle it out on Earth.
