‘Kung Fury’ -the awesome short with Hasselhoff, vikings and dinosaurs- is ONLINE
After it’s celebrated screening in Cannes last week, the full 80’s films tribute has hit YouTube in all of its (camp, self awareness, smart, big haired, vintage spfx) glory. Behold…
The short comes from the young Swedish mastermind (as all Swedish Pop things are) David Sandberg and his production company Laser Unicorns, with the backup of over 17.000 fans who contributed to the final product through Kickstarter back in 2013, raising over $630.000 after only watching a small trailer featuring the young filmmaker as “Kung Fury,” a renegade cop in a quest to defeat Hitler.
Earlier this year, the project made its first waves in the mainstream scope of the Internet thanks to an 80’s heavy music video with none other than David Hasselhoff. “The Hoff”, known for his string of hit TV shows in the 80’s, agreed to participate on the project 15 seconds into the trailer, according to Sandberg retailing his skyrocketing journey for the project to the press at The Cannes Festival.
