Television updates

There has been a bit of a lull in television programming the past couple of months, well, for the shows that I watch.
CBS’  number one program NCIS had a great season opener and still has an excellent cast and characters, the episodes still have the comraderie and comedy, but I think the stories need a little more action and suspense, perhaps [...]

Sherlock Holmes

I went to see Sherlock Holmes last night, the film was engaging, Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law worked well together, and it was not all action either, had its’ moments of deductive reasoning, even the fighting scenes were good as Holmes mentally planned the blocks and the hits and their physical damage intended in [...]

Snow Patrol concerts in Dublin

Snow Patrol are playing at the Olympia Theatre on December 2nd & 3rd.
The ticket prices are €56.80 and €62.70… quite dear given the current economic situation.
I caught them in Boston a couple of years ago.  I like their ‘A Hundred Million Suns’ album, my favourite song on that being ‘The Lightning Strike’.  This video below  [...]

V: only the beginning…

The fourth episdode of ABC’s V aired this week, here is a preview:

I like that quick view of Anna ‘walking the walk’ and her ‘Bliss’ scene was very interesting as well.
At the end of the show, the shot pulled away from Earth through our solar system to hundreds of ships, the invasion fleet !  I looked [...]

The iPod Shuffle

The Boston Globe has a weekly column where it lists an iPod shuffle for some semi-famous person, showing a totally random list of 10 tracks, some of which can be embarrasing I guess.  I thought it would be interesting to see what we’d see from the Culchies here.  Here goes mine……

1: ‘Stop Crying Your Heart [...]

Sci-Fi Television update

‘V’
‘V‘ premiered Tuesday night in the  US and I was quite impressed.  I held off posting this until after the premiere showed in Ireland and Europe.  I really liked the intro ’Where were you when JFK was assisinated?’  ‘Where were you on 9/11 ?’  ‘Where were you this morning ?’ !
The Visitors were quite open with their interests, they need some of [...]

Clare and after listening, have a review.   I really like ‘Saints and Angels‘ which Mike Scott sings above, ’Cape Clear‘ which is a traditional air nicely played by Sharon, and ‘The Wild West Wagon Train‘ which is nice [...]
