Kele Okereke Has Mama’s Support
With our competition for tickets to Kele Okereke’s Dublin gig on the 16th of May now closed (and thanks to everyone who entered), perhaps a swift update on songs, support and all sorts of other things beginning with “s” that I doubt I’ll have time to get into after all. I’m such a tease, alliteration junkies.
First off, here’s Kele’s first single, Tenderoni, due for release on 14th June. It’s … pretty dancey. Almost reminiscent of the electro-heavy summer of 2007. This might bother you if you’re expecting something a little more Bloc Party; let me know what you think.
Meanwhile, support for the Irish dates comes from Simone Ogunbunmi, AKA Mama, an intruigingly sophisticated diva-in-waiting…
… whose presence should be just right for the occasion. In fact, I’m quite gently psyched.
Again, the other Irish dates are Dolan’s Warehouse, Limerick on Friday 14th of May, Cyprus Avenue, Cork on Saturday the 15th, and Spring & Airbrake, Belfast on Monday, 17th.
